The English Drama Group Salzburg is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with a special event: a Mini English Drama Festival. In addition to their own performance (6th till 9th of June), they are going to have two guest performing groups: The Pennyless Players from Graz open the festival on the 5th of June performing „Art“ by Yasmina Reza, in which the friendship between three men comes heavily under fire when one of them buys a white painting with three white stripes on it for a horrendous sum of money.
A decades long friendship between three people threatens to come apart when one of them buys a painting – a white painting, with three white lines – for an astronomical sum of money. This purchase forces them all to examine their feelings, not only about what art is and what it is worth, but also about each other.
